Who runs Mokomoko?
Hi, we're Joey & Take, founders of Mokomoko.
We met and became friends while studying abroad in Japan during university, and we've always dreamed of buying a house here. In early 2023, we took the plunge and committed to making our dream a reality.
After combing through hundreds of Japanese real estate listings, we wondered, "Why isn't there a Zillow or Redfin equivalent in Japan?" So, we decided to create one. We originally launched as AkiyaMart, before rebranding as Mokomoko as the company grew beyond akiya. Read the story behind the rebrand.
